UHeights Monthly Roundup: September 2025
Mission in Action - Building Construction
Just in case you are curious about UHeights’ new building color palette…
Since this May, we have been working on the exterior siding and windows project. Project includes scaffolding installation around the building, paint removal, and wood restoration. In late September, we decided on the building color and started new paint application and window restoration.
Event Highlight - Summer Park Pop Up
Our last event of the summer was a blast of music, art, and good vibes! We want to send a huge thank you to everyone who joined us on September 13th for the final installment of our free outdoor Summer Park Pop-Up series. From dancing in the plaza to connecting with incredible local non-profits, the day was the perfect celebration of community.
The energy was infectious, with all age groups joining in the fun—we saw so many smiles, genuine connections being made, and folks enjoying the discovery stations. It was truly a powerful showcase of the vibrancy and activity that defines the hub here at UHeights.
We appreciate our host, Ish Qureshi, who kept the laughter flowing throughout the afternoon. A big shout-out to our extraordinary performers, The BusKings, The Highsteppers, and School of Rock for the music, and our participating vendors: Scarecrow Video, FIUTS, Habitat for Humanity, Seattle Parks and Recreation, and Refugee Artisan Initiative.
We're stepping into fall with a full heart and can't wait to see you all again next summer for more music, magic, and fun!

Partnership Spotlight - Improv for Real Life (IRL)
This month, we are spotlighting Improv for Real Life (IRL), a theatre education organization dedicated to fighting modern isolation by hosting workshops full of laughter and genuine connection.
IRL's mission is simple: to help you skip the awkward small talk and find your community right here in the local area. As founder Saya Jenks says, “Social isolation is such a common experience... I wanted to use my theatre teaching experience to help melt the Seattle Freeze.”
IRL offers a range of workshops, including high-energy improv games and deeper personal storytelling sessions, designed to be friendly to all experience levels (even introverts!).
Check out the full story on Saya’s journey, and see the entire fall schedule for workshops and the new Grown Up Drama Club series!
