Did You Know Cake Can Help You Understand Gender?
You're invited to join this month's vital community conversation, Understanding Gender: What's Cake Got to Do With It?
In this one-hour virtual workshop, we'll explore gender identity using cake as a playful metaphor to make complex concepts more digestible.
Understanding gender identity is critical in protecting and supporting the well-being of young people. This workshop reminds us that we are all in this work together while creating a safe space to learn and ask questions.

Marjorie Newman brings over 45 years of experience in early childhood education and social work to this conversation. Her personal journey as a parent of a trans adult has enriched her professional expertise, making her uniquely qualified to bridge understanding across generations.
Kelly Thompson complements our discussion with 35+ years of social work expertise, particularly in child and adolescent development. Her extensive background in community programming and research adds valuable depth to our conversation.

Art Is Not A Privilege | Inspired by social justice, gender-inclusive story, Beneath the Surface is an ongoing art experience starting Saturday, February 1 from 10 AM to 12 PM.
