About the Event
Please RSVP to get the Zoom meeting link emailed to you.
TIPS for Teens is back for the summer with a TEEN TAKEOVER! All our sessions will feature a teen guest speaker who will share and lead conversations with their peers on a topic of their choosing. After discussion time, participants will engage in writing and sharing their TIPS letters as a tool to explore the guest speaker's topic more.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Xixi Gardner is from Seattle, WA, and just graduated high school. She will be studying nursing at the University of San Francisco starting mid-august and loves to cook and watch YouTube videos. Her favorite song currently is "Heat Wave" by Glass Animals. Xixi lives with her parents, little sister, and dog, Clause. She is really thrilled to be a teen speaker for TIPS!
ABOUT THE TOPIC:
Xixi will be talking about her journey in deciding to study nursing at USF, her high school experience, and "tips" for navigating high school!
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
Our facilitator for TIPS for Teens is Anika Tara Rao. Anika is currently in 10th grade. She enjoys singing, cooking, traveling, and laughing with friends and family. Anika was inspired by her mom Dr. Anu Taranath to create safe spaces for talking about sometimes uncomfortable topics. She loves leadership and is very excited and thankful to be able to connect with you all!
ABOUT TIPS:
TIPS is a book written by Dr. Anu's UW students during their study abroad program in India, encouraging us to see ourselves and our surroundings anew via thought-provoking letters to Things, Ideas, People and Self (TIPS).
