About the Event

Please RSVP to get the Zoom meeting link emailed to you.

UHeights is excited to bring you a wonderful new program for teens, with which we hope to create a space for them to connect with themselves as well as each other.

Our facilitator for this program, TIPS for Teens is Anika Tara Rao. Anika will be starting 10th grade this Fall. She enjoys singing, dancing, cooking and hanging out with friends. Anika was inspired by her mom Dr. Anu Taranath to create safe spaces for talking about sometimes uncomfortable topics. She loves leadership and is very excited and thankful to be able to connect with you all!

TIPS is a book written by Dr. Anu's UW students during their study abroad program in India, encouraging us to see ourselves and our surroundings anew via thought-provoking letters to Things, Ideas, People and Self (TIPS).

Each week, Anika will introduce you to new guest speakers, who will share their insights with you and answer any questions you might have. You will spend some time writing letters using the TIPS model, and then if you feel comfortable, share what you've written with the group!

The session on 8/11 will be a special Teens Only meeting (no guest speaker), where participants will have an open discussion about what is coming up for them with summer vacation slowly coming to an end, and the uncertainty accompanying starting a new school year online. Group members will be participating in an interactive activity, as well as writing letters to Ideas (I in TIPS).
