About the Event

Please RSVP to get the Zoom meeting link emailed to you.

UHeights is excited to bring you a wonderful new program for teens, with which we hope to create a space for them to connect with themselves as well as each other.

Our facilitator for this program, TIPS for Teens is Anika Tara Rao. Anika will be starting 10th grade this Fall. She enjoys singing, dancing, cooking and hanging out with friends. Anika was inspired by her mom Dr. Anu Taranath to create safe spaces for talking about sometimes uncomfortable topics. She loves leadership and is very excited and thankful to be able to connect with you all!

TIPS is a book written by Dr. Anu's UW students during their study abroad program in India, encouraging us to see ourselves and our surroundings anew via thought-provoking letters to Things, Ideas, People and Self (TIPS).

Each week, Anika will introduce you to new guest speakers, who will share their insights with you and answer any questions you might have. You will spend some time writing letters using the TIPS model, and then share what you've written with the group.

For our meeting on November 24th, we welcome guest speaker Brandon Maust. Brandon recently graduated from pediatric residency and is pursuing additional training infectious diseases. He believes deeply that a more just and equitable world is a healthier one, and he thinks a lot about how access to information shapes people's understanding of their health.

Brandon will be talking with the group about "Take Charge of Your Health!"
