Guest Speaker for May:

We are thrilled to welcome Sam Hampton, executive director of our newest resident organization, Social Justice Film Institute as Guest Speaker for our May session.

Sam is a seasoned executive in the nonprofit and education fields.  He has held leadership and consulting roles with nonprofits,  schools, and affiliated agencies in program delivery and project management.  He brings a unique perspective to his work as he is a first-generation college graduate whose career has focused on empowering underserved populations.

An award-winning filmmaker, Sam co-founded Docs in Progress, a nonprofit educational organization for documentary filmmakers.  He also served as the founding executive director of a Washington, D.C., technology nonprofit.  Most recently, Sam was the director of management consulting for 501 Commons, a capacity-building nonprofit in Seattle.  Sam holds a Ph.D. in Urban Education from Cleveland State University, undertaking research at The Ohio State University.  He has served on the board of The Harley School, a New York progressive independent day school, and the American Film Institute's Documentary Film Festival (AFI Docs) selection committee.
