About the Event
In partnership with NEST, UHeights is excited to offer a weekly Restorative Exercise program with instructor Erin Doty!
Welcome to a playful exploration of restorative exercise and natural movement. Together we'll leverage and engage some often neglected muscles and ranges of joint motion. Befriend more opportunities for releasing stagnation, increasing movement and play with each step.
Corrective exercises included are based on the work of biomechanist Katy Bowman. The whole-body approach in these classes helps improve balance, prevent pain, and increase range of motion and energy!
This class invites all bodies, ages, and abilities to enjoy new and familiar movements together. Instructor Erin provides modifications to ease or intensify difficulty, and will enthusiastically tailor activities to include caregiver-friendly options. Chair or floor modifications adjust for desired level of difficulty.
Please bring a rolled bath towel or yoga mat, and a tennis ball or medium sized stone/pebble. Most exercises are conducted barefoot for maximum benefit, and each class begins with foot mobility warm-ups.
Some weeks we will move outside and enjoy the elements.
// This is a free class. Donations to NEST or UHeights are welcome but not necessary.
